RF Micro Intros CDMA Power Amplifier Modules

December 26, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

RF Micro Devices Inc. (Greensboro, NC) announced the availability of five linear power amplifier modules for use in code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless handsets and other hand-held systems. The 4mm x 4mm modules are manufactured on a new, next-generation, gallium arsenide, hetero-junction bipolar transistor process technology developed by RF Micro Devices.

The family of modules offers multiple voltage reference and output power options to accommodate existing and next-generation CDMA baseband chip sets. Additionally, the RF6100-4 PCS module has been optimized to deliver 29dBm of output power to accommodate additional functions, such as global positioning systems, and enable the use of lower-cost or smaller-size duplexer alternatives.
