Power-One Intros the HLS30ZE Half-Brick DC/DC Converter

Power-One Inc. recently introduced the new HLS30ZE half-brick dc/dc converter that the company claims provides over 89 percent efficiency and eliminates the need for a heatsink. This 3.3Vout single-output converter provides 30A and operates over an input-voltage range of 35Vto 75V, with 48V nominal.

Features of the new converter include 1,500V input-to-output isolation, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, remote sense, output-voltage trim, remote on/off, and a 2.4" x 2.3" industry-standard footprint. The HLS30ZE features advanced single-board packaging, which reduces the mounted height to 0.43". In addition, the design incorporates an embedded heat spreader to dissipate heat.

The HLS30ZE is currently available and is priced at $109 in quantities of 100.
