Power Measurement Intros ION 7550 and ION 7650 Meters

September 20, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Power Measurement Ltd. (Victoria, BC, Canada) introduced its new ION™ 7550 and ION™ 7650 energy and power quality meters, which are designed for monitoring key distribution points and sensitive loads. The new panel-mount devices combine revenue-accurate energy measurements with power-quality compliance reporting functions, high-resolution sampling (for capturing fast transient disturbances), expanded onboard memory, and enhanced communications options.

Based on the company's ION 7500 and ION 7600 meters, the meters' extended processing power offers increased sampling rates (up to 1,024 samples per cycle) for capturing short-duration power transients. Increased onboard memory allows the devices to store more waveforms, event records and load trend data, and a new ANSI optical port provides quick and secure access to billing data or historical event records, right from the front panel. When integrated with Power Measurement's ION EEM enterprise energy management software, the ION 7550 and ION 7650 can help support operational cost reductions, power quality and reliability analysis, demand control, energy procurement, cost allocation, benchmarking and budgeting functions.

The new ION 7550 and ION 7650 meters are available now.
