Power Integrations Intros TOPSwitch-GX TO-262 Package
Power Integrations Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced the availability of a new low-profile through-hole assembly TO-262 package option for its TOPSwitch-GX power monolithic switcher IC family. Nine new devices, ranging in power up to 290W, are now offered in the industry-standard TO-262 package for applications that cannot accommodate a TO-220 package because of height restrictions.
The new devices expand the range of applications supported by the TOPSwitch-GX family of switched-mode power supply ICs, enabling designers to create switching power supplies with reduced size, high standby efficiency and lower system cost. The ICs are targeted for low-profile through-hole assembly in existing applications such as universal power adapters, video game consoles, LCD monitors and other power supply designs that require heatsinking but, due to specific design requirements, may have limited height available above the printed circuit board.
Pricing for the new TOPSwitch-GX TO-262 package devices in 1,000-piece quantities ranges from $1.55 each for the 22W TOP242F, to $3.29 each for the 290W TOP250F. Sample quantities are available now from stock with production quantities available in four weeks ARO.
