Phihong USA Launches Its PSLA-15LN Series Power Supplies

July 30, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Phihong USA (Fremont, CA) has announced the PSLA-15LN Series of 15W single-output switching power supplies. These supplies have two versions, one with two-wire ac input and the other with three-wire ac input. The three-wire version is used in countries such as the US, which offer a ground connection as part of the wall outlet power-distribution system. The two-wire version is designed for use in countries with no ground connection.

The new PSLA-15LN Series accepts input voltage from 90Vac to 264Vac, allowing it to operate anywhere in the world. The Series measures 4.33" x 1.57" x 1.0", and is designed for use in portable instruments, peripherals, terminals and microcomputers. Seven single-output models range from 3.3V to 24V, and deliver ±1 percent line regulation and ±3 percent load regulation.

The PSA-15LN Series meets numerous international regulatory standards. The very low conducted noise meets FCC Class B and EN55022 B emissions. It meets IEC 61000-4-5 Level 3 ac-surge immunity standards and is safety approved to UL1950 and CSA C22.2 950-M95. Ground leakage current is less than 250A for the two-wire version and 750A for the three-wire version.

"The PSA-15LN was an upgrade to our existing 10W and 15W designs," explained Alan Richards, vice president of Phihong USA. "The enhancements allowed the power supply to deliver 15W from a 10W package, except for the 3.3V output version. Best of all, the 15LN Series is small, has little conducted noise, operates worldwide and is inexpensive."

The PSA-15LN Series is priced at $15.75 each in quantities of 100.
