July 19, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Phihong announced the development of a new 24W, two-wire, universal input wall-mount adapter. Designated PSA24A-120(P), the adapter is available in a single 12V output and boasts ENERGY STAR® Level V performance markings, which indicate that the adapter is compliant with the recent, and more stringent, ENERGY STAR EPS Version 2.0 specification for external power supplies. The adapter, which also bears cUL/UL, BSMI, and PSE safety approvals and markings, is ideal for portable equipment, access devices, and peripherals.

"Throughout the design process, our engineers strive to create new products that not only meet and exceed our quality standards, but also uphold the company’s commitment to manufacturing the energy-efficient, environmentally responsible power supplies that our OEM partners have come to depend on," said Keith Hopwood, Vice President of Marketing for Phihong.

The PSA24A-120(P) wall-mount adapter is Class II double insulated, meets Class B EMI standards, and features over-current, over-voltage, and short-circuit protection. Additionally, per ENERGY STAR EPS Version 2.0 specifications, the adapter features a minimum average operating efficiency of 82% and a maximum no-load power supply consumption of less than 0.3W.

Phihong’s PSA24A-120(P) adapters measure 3.29 x 1.38 x 2.89", terminate with a standard 2.1 x 5.5mm dc barrel output connector, and weigh 5.82oz. The 24W adapters are rated for operation from 0 to 40°C.

Pricing for the PSA24A-120(P) adapter is $14.72 per unit at quantity 10 pieces.
