Parker Hannifin Launches XL Series of Stepper Drives

April 04, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Parker Hannifin's (UK) electromechanical division has launched a new range of stepper drives called the XL Series. The new series drives are housed in a metal case with a width of 30mm. The cases stand 175mm tall and have front-to-back measurement of 130mm. They are designed for panel-mounting, using standard connectors and screw terminals, and require an 80Vdc motor supply and a 24Vdc logic supply.

The drives use high-frequency switching techniques and are available with either 2.5A or 5A output stages to facilitate application matching. They are suitable for use with two-phase stepper motors and offer four user-selectable resolution settings. Standard features include programmable motor current and automatic current reduction at standby. The drives are fully protected against short-circuits across or between motor windings, and are equipped with condition-monitoring circuitry to guard against over-heating and supply faults.

XL Series drives are CE marked. The products are only available to OEMs, and there is a minimum order quantity of 25.
