Panasonic to Develop Nanotech Solar Cell

Matsushita Electric Works Ltd., an affiliate of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. (Japan), announced that it has agreed with Nanosys Inc. (Palo Alto, CA) to develop nanotechnology-based solar cells, which will have a core layer thickness of less than one-100th that of conventional solar cells. The company said it hopes to start selling the new solar cells in 2007.
