ON Semiconductor Introduces the MC10/100EP195 Skew Management Device

June 20, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

ON Semiconductor (Phoenix, AZ) introduced a new, high-performance skew management device, the MC10/100EP195. These programmable delay circuits are capable of skewing a clock or data edge over a range of more than 8nsec with a minimum step size of 15 picoseconds. The skew is programmable via a CMOS-compatible interface that can directly connect to a micro-processor for simple software control of skew. The skew control is realized with a tapped delay line architecture that offers all-digital control and a broad operating frequency range exceeding 2GHz. This device has been engineered to allow multiple devices to be cascaded.

ON Semiconductor designed the MC10/100EP195 as a tool to allow the management and control of PCB delay mismatches in high-speed board designs for next-generation Automated Test Equipment, enterprise computing and optical networking equipment applications. The device offers 3.0V to 5.5V operation, high operating frequency, small packaging, 1,024 discrete programming steps and a flexible parallel micro-processor interface.

The MC10/100EP195 is offered in a TQFP-32 package. The company prices the device at $11.00 for 10,000 units.
