ON Semiconductor Introduces New CS1112 Quad Power Output Driver

January 31, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

ON Semiconductor (Phoenix, AZ) announced the availability of the CS1112, a quad-power output driver IC, designed to withstand the environments found in computer, industrial and telecommunication applications.

Fabricated on PowerSense process technology, the CS1112 integrates four protected DMOS low-side drivers controlled either through a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) port or its associated parallel input. The device is suitable for redesigning, upgrading or retrofitting systems using multi-driver solutions in automotive applications. The extended industrial operating temperature range is -40 degrees Celsius to +125 degrees Celsius. Differentiating features of the CS1112 include I/O control and output protection features such as overcurrent protection, open load detection, and inductive flyback clamps. Operation will latch off in the event of overvoltage or undervoltage conditions.

The CS1112 is in a 24-lead SOIC package with internally fused leads. Devices are available in bulk form at 31 units per rail or tape and reel and 1000 units per reel. In quantities of 10,000 pieces, the CS1112 is priced at $2.36 each.
