January 22, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Northwest Power Integrations (NPI, Milwaukie, OR), a Vicor Integration Architect, introduced a new, general-purpose, high-power, low-profile power supply. From inputs of 115/230Vac, it provides five outputs from 1.8V to 52V, up to 160A per output, or 800W/1,000W of total output power. Designated PowerBank1000AC, it is configured with high-current, locking connectors. It is also offered with optional busbars.

Typical applications include VME systems, test, industrial controls and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. For 10-inch rack applications, NPI offers accessory 1U rack-mount shelves. Cooling options include an integral fan or system forced air. Dimensions are 10.5" x 7" x 1.68".

“Our customers value low cost, quick turnaround and reliable performance," commented Wojciech Tabisz, an NPI co-founder, “and the PowerBank1000AC helps us deliver in a very impressive, compact package. The high-current locking connectors are also a much-appreciated feature."

Prices start as low as $899 in 1,000-piece quantities.
