NESS Capacitor Unveils the AAEC Series

July 11, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

NESS Capacitor Co. Ltd. announced the introduction of the Advanced Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor (AAEC) Series. The new capacitors are offered in three different types, including chip, radial and prismatic. NESS reports that all three types have low ESR, at less than 500mOhm for the chip type. ESR is less than 10mOhm for the radial type and less than 6mOhm for the prismatic. All three types have a voltage range from 6.3V to 50V.

The AAEC is an asymmetric capacitor system, a hybrid of electrochemical and electrolytic capacitors. The company claims that the system increases the allowable ripple current and improves the response characteristics at a high-frequency range. In addition, the new system increases the capacitor's specific energy at operating voltage.

The AAEC Series measures 7.2mm x 6.5mm x 3mm for the chip type, 10mm x 30mm for the radial type, and 64.5mm x 33.5mm x 6mm for the prismatic type. The capacitors have a 105 degrees C temperature rating and are suitable for use in consumer electronics, medical supplies, telecommunications and power supplies.

The AAEC Series is currently available. The required voltage and sales volume determines exact pricing.
