Navitas Semiconductor Expands Investment & Adds Distribution in China

Navitas Semiconductor today announced significant expansion in the China market which includes the opening of a Shenzhen sales office & applications lab plus a new China distributor, WT Microelectronics.  This investment and cooperation will significantly accelerate GaNFast power IC penetration into the RMB200B power semiconductor market.

The world's first GaNFast™ power ICs enable simultaneous MHz-frequency and highest-efficiency operation. These advances translate to smaller, lighter, lower system cost power conversion in mobile fast chargers and adapters, LED TVs, EV/Hybrid, LED lighting and new energy solutions.

The new Navitas office is located in the Nanshan District, with easy access to customers in Shenzhen and Dongguan plus high-speed rail and airport links (Shenzhen and Hong Kong).

"The opening of our first China sales office, with dedicated engineers and a fully-equipped application lab, is a big milestone for Navitas and is key to support our China customers and accelerate their time-to-market with best-in-class products", explained Charles Zha, Navitas Senior Director of China Sales.

"From sponsoring the CPSSC '17 conference in Shanghai in November '17 through to the PEAC '18  conference in November '18 in Shenzhen, plus a growing network of field and factory applications engineers, Navitas shows a full commitment to GaN growth in China," Zha observed.

In addition, Navitas has signed a new distribution partnership agreement in China with WT Microelectronics, to support rapid expansion of their business throughout China.

"WT is very excited to partner with Navitas in the creation of a new class of GaN IC-based power systems.  The China opportunity is extraordinary and WT has the line card, experience and customer relationships to exploit it fully", explained WT's China General Manager, James Wen.
