Murata Manufacturing Debuts the GA3 Series of Capacitors

July 22, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Japan) has debuted a new series of ceramic capacitors. The GA3 Series of 250Vac chip monolithic capacitors feature a base-metal internal electrode. Murata reports that models GD and GF have received SEMKO Class Y3 and Class Y2 EN132400 certification for safety.

The GA3 capacitors operate over a temperature range from -55 to 125 degrees C and exhibit a withstand voltage of up to 1.5kVac. Capacitance values range from 100pF to 2.2nF for the GD devices, and 100pF to 4.7nF for the GF capacitors, with a tolerance of +/-15 percent.

Murata's capacitors are optimized for applications such as coupling between analog circuits and digital circuits, and for suppressing lightning-induced surges.
