Microchip Technology Inc. (Chandler, AZ) announced the release of a new 150mA, low dropout regulator (LDO) in a small, space-saving, SC-70 package. The TC1017 LDO has a low dropout voltage of 285mV at 150mA and a low supply current of 53µA, which extends battery life and improves system efficiency. The TC1017 is suitable for any battery-operated application.
The TC1017 features a maximum output current of 150mA and is offered with a variety of output-voltage options. Tiny size, low dropout voltage and minimal supply current make it suitable for space-critical or portable applications such as cellular phones, PDAs, pagers, laptops, CO2 detectors, flash modules, wireless LAN (local area network) cards, bar code scanners, cameras, MP3 players and a number of other small-size, battery-powered applications. The device comes in a small, five-pin, SC-70 package.
Pricing for the TC1017, offered in the SC-70 package, is $0.55 each in 1,000-unit quantities. Samples and volume production are now available.
