Mattel Discovers Faulty Power Supplies In Computers

Mattel Inc. (El Segundo, CA) recently announced that faulty power supplies forced Mattel licensee Patriot Computers Corp. (Toronto) to delay the shipment of about 40,000 of Mattel's new Barbie and Hot Wheels computers.Patriot is replacing the bad parts and hopes to have computers in customers' hands by early January. Youngsters who did not get their PC in time for the holiday will instead get a free gift package that includes a Hot Wheels or Barbie toy, software and a gift certificate.
