May 16, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Magnetek Inc. (Chatsworth, CA), a manufacturer of digital power products for communications, information technology, alternative energy, power generation, transportation and commercial fuel cells, announced that its Aurora™ indoor solar inverter product line has been nominated to receive the INTEL Design Award at INTEL 2005, being held May 17-21, 2005, in Milan, Italy.

The INTEL 2005 nomination citation states that Aurora is "an extremely reliable product (estimated useful life 25 years), achieved by using advanced design and quality manufacturing criteria. Aurora offers unmatched performance that allows it to harvest more energy from the photovoltaic (solar) cells using special control algorithms. The efficiency reaches 96% and the speed and accuracy in following the irradiance variations are unique in the market. The external look, innovative and attractive, with the integrated graphical display and the many data communication options, is designed for ease of installation and use. Aurora represents the best choice not only for residential, but also for commercial photovoltaic systems, where several units are readily connected in parallel to increase power output."
