Magna-Power Electronics Announces the MQ Series of DC Power Supplies

May 10, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Magna-Power Electronics Inc. (Boonton, NJ) recently debuted the MQ Series of 20kW to 60kW dc power supplies. Featuring 50 models ranging from 16 to 625Vdc and 21 to 3,600Adc, the MQ Series can withstand a dielectric of 2,500Vac. It can be operated in series or parallel with master/slave operation. The devices feature digital control lines that are optically isolated, and they are claimed to have a high power factor. Over-voltage protection and over-current protection shutdown are standard for the MQ Series.

Other specifications for the MQ Series include a regulation line and load combined of 0.10 percent. Stability is 0.10 percent for eight hours after a 30-minute warm-up. Transient response is 10ms to recover within two percent of regulated output with a 30-percent step load change. Ambient temperatures for the devices range from 0 to 50 degrees C.
