Vincotech today announced the release of a new type of ultra-compact brake resistor engineered to absorb higher energy pulses. The Q992-A module for motion control brake chopper applications offers utmost reliability at a remarkably low price.
This new Q992-A brake resistor features in highly reliable thick-film-on-ceramic technology with 4kV isolation to the heat sink, an ultra-low profile and a fast-on terminal. Designed for motion control brake chopper applications, this resistor delivers excellent performance at a resistance value of 400Ω / 200W (tolerance 20%) and 2kW peak power.
The Q992-A's design enables easy, economical assembly: It is simply mounted to a heat sink using pre-applied thermal interface material. Measuring 42.2 x 27.86 x 6.09 mm, this inrush current resistor is extremely compact. The S30814-Q992-A is already in production.
