Liebert Announces the GXT 2U Family of UPSs

May 23, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Liebert Corp. (Columbus, OH) has announced the new GXT 2U family of high-availability UPSs in 700VA, 1,000VA, 1,500VA, 2kVA and 3kVA sizes. The GXT 2U is designed to provide power protection, internal battery backup and an optional output distribution and maintenance bypass module. It is suitable for use in applications where space and uptime are critical.

Liebert claims that the GXT 2U protects systems from a range of power disturbances including spikes, surges and extended overvoltages. It also protects systems from noise, sags and brownouts, difficult-to-track harmonics and harmful frequency. The UPS is configurable with a Windows software program that provides output voltage selections of 100, 110, 115, 120 or 127V. The program allows enable/disable auto-restart and line-neutral reversal detection functions, as well as variable automatic battery test settings and the ability to change low-battery warnings from the standard two minutes. Other features include an internal automatic bypass mode, double-conversion online technology, hot-swappable battery units and 50/60Hz auto-frequency sensing and selection.

“The GXT 2U is a true online UPS utilizing double-conversion technology for the highest level of fault tolerance and protection from a wide variety of power disturbances," commented Rich Zajkowski, product manager. “GXT 2U offers internal manual and automatic bypass and input power correction, to create true sine wave output voltage for the most extreme environments without resorting to battery backup, thereby prolonging battery life."

Pricing for Liebert's new rack-mount GXT 2U starts at $465.
