Kenwood TMI Debuts the PXR100-6L and PXR200-6L Power Supplies

August 13, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Kenwood TMI Corp. (Tokyo, Japan) has begun selling multi-channel regulated power supplies for simultaneously evaluating the electric characteristics of six units of large-capacity secondary batteries. The new power supplies are called PXR100-6L and PXR200-6L. The PXR100-6L and PXR200-6L have high outputs of 100W and 200W, respectively. Kenwood claims this enables them to be used to evaluate the charging characteristics of a battery unit composed of several secondary-battery cells.

According to Kenwood, the largest rated loads in the case of evaluating the battery's discharging characteristics are 20V/5A/100W for the PXR100-6L, and 20V/10A/200W for the PXR200-6L. The two models have six channels each, and each channel can be used as either a power supply or an electron load. The respective set resolutions of measuring conditions provided by the PXR100-6L and PXR200-6L are 0.1mV and 0.1mA, and 0.1mV and 1mA, respectively. The read-back resolutions are 1mV and 1mA for both models.

The PXR100-6L is priced at approximately US$140.28 million (1.28-million yen) and the PXR200-6L at approximately US$175.34 million (1.6-million yen).
