IXYS' ISOPLUS247 Receives UL Recognition

April 26, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

IXYS Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) announced that its new ISOPLUS247 internally isolated TO-247 outline power package has received UL recognition. The new package offers an electrically isolated backside and guarantees a minimum of 2500V(rms) isolation between the back of the package and the silicon chip and its leads."Being able to apply the UL symbol to our new ISOPLUS247 package is a major achievement and also a big advantage, accelerating the acceptance of IXYS isolated power discretes in worldwide power conversion and motor drive markets," stated IXYS Manager of Application Engineering Ralph Locher. "Many circuit designers prefer to design in a UL recognized component since that can help them obtain UL approval for their equipment."
