IXYS Announces IXDI414/IXDN414 MOSFET/IGBT ICs

February 07, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

IXYS Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) announced the introduction of new high-power, ultra-fast, MOSFET/IGBT driver ICs in inverting (IXDI414) and non-inverting (IXDN414) designs. The IXDI414 and IXDN414 drivers integrate a 14A output current, wide-working voltage range and ultra-fast switching on a single chip, making the drivers suitable for high-current power MOSFETs and IGBTs, UPS systems, switch-mode power supplies, dc/dc converters, motor controls, Class D amplifiers, solid-state relays, pulse transformer drivers, pulse generators, and line drivers.

The drivers feature low matched rise, fall times (20ns), propagation delay time and the proprietary design that virtually eliminates cross conduction in the output stage. The drivers operate over a wide supply voltage range of 4.5V to 25V and can be driven by either TTL or CMOS input signals. Each driver is immune to latch-up within the 14A current range and operates in switching frequencies up to few megahertz. The drivers are available also in industry-standard eight-pin PDIP and in die form packaging for hybrid and multi-chip module customers.
