IXYS Announces Improvements to Its IXDP610 PWM Controller

August 08, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

IXYS Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) announced the availability of an improved version of the IXDP610, its digital PWM controller. This controller IC chip can now operate up to 400kHz and has decreased the latency from three clock periods to one. The chip interfaces with most standard microprocessor and microcomputer buses.

Typical applications for the IXDP610 include switch-mode power supplies and speed controls for servo-motors, brushless dc motors and stepper motors. The product is suitable for advanced motion-control applications like multi-axis robots and automation equipment, as well as fly-by-wire applications.

The IXDP610 is packaged in an 18-pin slim DIP, and surface-mountable versions will be made available. Deliveries for sample quantities are from stock. Lead times for production quantities are 10 to 12 weeks.
