Intersil Debuts ISL6411 Low-Dropout Regulator IC

November 26, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced its new ISL6411 triple low-dropout (LDO) regulator IC, the ISL6411, which reduces board space and bill of materials by combining three LDO regulators, a reset function and extensive circuit-protection functions into a single chip. The ISL6411 is suitable for WLAN systems, small form-factor industry-standard cards, and WLAN access points used in both business and residential settings.

The ISL6411 is an ultra-low noise, triple-output, linear regulator with microprocessor reset and is optimized for powering wireless chip sets. The IC accepts an input-voltage range of 2.5V to 3.8V and provides three regulated output voltages of 1.8V or 2.84V, and another 2.84V for voltage-controlled oscillators. High integration and the thin quad-flat no-lead (QFN) package provide a small dc/dc converter size.

The ISL6411 is available now. Pricing is $1.32 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
