Inpaq Technology Intros New MLV Series Varistors

Inpaq Technology Co. Ltd. (Taiwan) announced the new MLV Series of multi-layer varistors, which provide a high clamping ratio and a high transient current-handling capability at a low operating voltage. They also exhibit fast response time. The devices are offered in 0402, 0603 and 1206 case sizes.

The series devices operate at voltages ranging from 5.5Vdc to 18Vdc or 4Vrms to 14Vrms. Varistor voltage is rated from 8V to 22V (±10 percent to ±20 percent). Clamping voltage is from 15.5V to 40V (1A, 8µ/20µA). They feature a peak current of up to 30A and exhibit a 10-megohm resistance at 5Vdc. Response time is <1ns.

The varistors are specified at temperatures ranging from -55 to 125 degree C. They withstand 235 degree C soldering for 2 seconds. Soldering reaching is rated at up to 260 degrees C for 10 seconds.
