International Components Corp. (ICC) launched a new series of ac-dc open-frame, single output power supplies marketed under the Elpac Power Systems™ brand name. The new 100-watt series features an industry-leading converter efficiency of up to 90% and an industry-leading power density of up to 8.7W per cubic inch. Expanding upon the success of the MVA100 for medical applications, the FVA100, designed for commercial applications, is the latest addition to the company’s rapidly expanding portfolio of high-efficiency, high-reliability power supplies.
The 100W series is well suited to applications where space is at a premium and there is little or no airflow. The FVA100 delivers 100W of continuous output power with natural convection that rises to 120W with just 100 LFM of forced air. This high-reliability power supply offers active power factor correction of .96 to minimize input harmonic current distortion and ensure compliance with the international EN61000-3-2 standard. The FVA100 also provides a long hold-up time for reliable operation at more than 60ms at any input voltage. No minimum load is required for the unit to start up and maintain stated specifications.
The power supplies are comprehensively protected against over-voltage, over-temperature, and short circuit conditions and demonstrated mean time between failure exceeds 200,000 hours. The units operate at full power from 0 to + 50°C and up to + 70°C with derating. The FVA100 features a universal input range of 85 to 264Vac enabling use in any part of the world.
The FVA100 series is competitively priced starting at $45.68 in OEM quantities of 1,000. The power supplies are available in four single output voltages ranging from 12-24 Vdc. ICC can also design a 100% custom solution to meet specific OEM requirements.
