October 27, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Tsinghua Huatian Technology Dev. Co. Ltd. (China) announced the new AE-2388 CPU cooler, which features a cooling fan that rotates at 3,000rpm and produces an airflow of 4.17cfm, making the device suitable for use in Intel's Celeron CPUs rated at >1.7GHz and AMD's 1.7GHz Duron and 2.2GHz Athlon XP processors.

The CPU cooler features a "bonding" technology that bonds a copper chip at the bottom of the radiator to improve the conductive performance. The device also features a hall circuit that can reduce the current and protect the device's inner components. The AE-2388 is rated at 12Vdc, 0.14A; requires a startup voltage of 7Vdc; and dissipates 1.68W. The cooler produces a noise of 34dB and has a rated lifespan of at least 50,000 (25 degrees C) or at least 35,000h (40 degrees C).
