High-Quality, Non-Inductive, High-Voltage, Thick-Film Resistors

August 12, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

The ARC series of versatile, high-quality, non-inductive, high-voltage, thick-film resistors available from UK-based ARCOL Resistors are suitable for a wide range of applications including; high-voltage medical systems, test and measuring equipment, HV power supplies, high specification instrumentation, voltage dividers, measuring equipment, electrostatic and current limiting devices. Three versions are available with the ARC1 type being a space saving planar design offering users a choice of axial or radial assembly and either conformal or glass coatings.

The ARC1 series have resistors with voltage handling capability of up to 35kVdc and has an operating temperature range of -55 to +175 degrees C. The ARC2 and ARC3 are radial designs with operating temperatures from -55 to +225 degrees C. The ARC2 has a maximum operating voltage of 54 kVdc, while the ARC3 reaches 96 kVdc.

The ARC1 has an ohmic value range from 1KΩ to 30GΩ and a maximum power of 10W, the ARC2 offers ohmic values from 400RΩ to 30GΩ at up to 17W and the ARC3 has values from 2RΩ to 25GΩ and a maximum available commercial wattage of 105W these values are available across a variety of TCR and tolerance options. Like all ARCOL products the ARC series of resistors are RoHS compliant.

ARCOL offer one of the widest ranges of resistors available to electronics designers and manufacturers including the market leading HS aluminum housed high power range, vitreous enamel coated types, the MSR series of bare element resistors, the RWS precision power wirewound SMD resistor family, axial thin film, silicon coated types and precision passivated chip resistors and resistor packs.
