September 14, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

H Power Corp. (Clifton, NJ) recently unveiled the Power Pem PS250, a new PEM fuel cell system. The system, rated at 250W, is available in both mobile and rack-mounted models. Intended for the small electric-vehicle market as a primary or fuel cell battery hybrid-power source, the Power Pem PS250 can also be used as a backup power supply for solar photovoltaic installations or for military and industrial portable battery chargers

H. Frank Gibbard, CEO of H Power, commented, "We believe that fuel cells, as a safe, environmentally power-friendly source, can replace batteries and small generator sets in many existing applications and in new applications that would not be adequately powered by any traditional power source."
