Gresham Power Intros CPCI-AC-4U-400 Power Supply

February 25, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Gresham Power (Salisbury) introduced a new high-efficiency, 400W compact PCI power supply that features an optional intelligent platform management interface card. The CPCI-AC-4U-400 power supply fully conforms to the accepted compact PCI specifications and offers hot-swap connection, output-current sharing for N+1 redundant operation and requires no minimum load to function correctly. The power supply is safety agency approved to UL, CSA and TUV, is CE marked and meets EN5022 class A and FCC-68, Part-15.

With efficiency better than 81 percent at 230Vac input, and space-saving dimensions of just 6U x 8HP x 169.60mm, minimal heat is passed on into the host system and maximum space is made available for functional system components. Standard output-voltage configuration is 5Vdc at 50A, 3.3Vdc at 80A, +12Vdc at 7A and –12Vdc at 1A. Input voltage is universal from 85Vac to 264Vac over the frequency range of 47Hz to 63Hz, and a 48Vdc input version is also available for telecomm applications. Full output power is available over a temperature range of –10°C to +55°C with 15 CFM of cooling.

Additional standard features include, unlimited duration overload and short-circuit protection; over-voltage and over-temperature protection; load sensing on 5Vdc and 3.3Vdc outputs; enable, inhibit and power good signals; front panel LED’s to indicate output and input power status; and I2C data bus for remote monitoring and control.
