Green Mountain and Nuon Unveil Houston Solar Facility

Green Mountain Energy Co. (Houston, TX) and Nuon Renewable Ventures LLC (the Netherlands) announced the new Green Mountain Energy solar facility at the Upper Kirby District Foundation building in Houston, which is a commercial-scale, 43kW, solar array that takes up approximately 6,000ft² of roof. Electricity generated from the installation will be delivered to the Texas electric grid.

BP Solar (Linthicum, MD) was responsible for the design and installation of the solar facility. The array is made up of 440 BP Solar MSX-120 panels with a total of 31,680 individual multicrystalline solar cells. The array will avoid the production of approximately 45 tons of CO2 annually.
