Galil Motion Intros BLM-N23-50-1000 Servo Motor

January 27, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Galil Motion Control Inc. (Rocklin, CA), an industry innovator in motion control technology, introduced the newest addition to its line of brushless servo motors, the BLM-N23-50-1000, which features a 1,000 pulses per revolution incremental encoder and provides for a high torque-to-inertia ratio, making it suitable for point-to-point applications requiring fast, highly responsive acceleration.

The BLM-N23-50-1000 provides for smooth, low-speed performance with low cogging, which allows for accurate motion profiling at all speeds. Additionally, the BLM-N23-50-1000 features 46oz-in of continuous torque, 286oz-in of peak torque and a 5,500rpm maximum speed at 48V. A torque constant of 11.4oz-in/A produces 46oz-in of continuous torque at 4A. The mounted 1,000 line-differential quadrature encoder has differential hall sensors and shielded cable to ensure noise immunity.

The small, Nema 23 frame of the BLM-N23-50-1000 has a length of only 3.7in and weighs 1.8lbs. The BLM-N23-50-1000 is priced at $295 in 100-unit quantities.
