Ericsson Energy Intros PKJ DC/DC Converter Family

March 28, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Ericsson Energy Systems (Richardson, TX) unveiled its new PKJ dc/dc converter family, the first product line developed by Ericsson Energy Systems with a focus on the external market rather than as a design for an internal Ericsson customer. The 3.3V PKJ family operates on a 48V input and includes dc/dc converters with 3.3V models offering 15A, 20A and 30A ratings and 90 percent efficiency. Line and load regulation are both 1mV, while the remote sensed output is factory set to 3.3V +/-50mV and adjustable between 2.5V and 3.6V. The PKJ delivers full power up to +100 degrees C case temperature, with the integral baseplate spreading heat to eliminate hotspots. Three 3.3V models are currently available, with ratings of 15A/50W, 20A/66W and 30A/100W. The power modules are priced under $95 for the 30A model in 1,000-piece quantities.
