August 10, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Energizer Holdings Inc. (St. Louis, MO) introduced two new chargers and an upgrade to its high-capacity AA nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries. The NiMH rechargeable batteries are suitable for battery users who are searching for an economical solution in power-hungry devices.

Energizer's 2,500 mAh NiMH AA batteries will be packed with a new charger, the Energizer® Compact Charger, which is suitable for digital camera cases, small travel bags and purses. A sliding drawer opens for charging and closes for compact storage. The charger will come packed with four 2,500 mAh NiMH AA batteries, and will be available in time for the holidays at a suggested retail price of $19.99.

The new Energizer 15-Minute Charger charges any two to four AA or AAA NiMH batteries at the 15-Minute rapid charge rate. Energizer claims to be the first to offer a 15-minute charge time on high-capacity NiMH batteries (up to 2,200 mAh). The charger will come packed with four 2,200 mAh AA Energizer NiMH rechargeable batteries for added value, at a suggested retail price of $29.99.
