September 28, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

Emerson Network Power announced that Anand Ekbote and Charles O’Donnell have been appointed to new executive leadership roles. Ekbote now has a leadership role in the Emerson Network Power monitoring and infrastructure management center of expertise for the Liebert business as Vice President of Monitoring, and O’Donnell is playing a lead role in product development as Vice President of Engineering for the Liebert AC Power business.

Ekbote takes charge of Emerson’s Liebert monitoring business in North America, along with responsibility for the related global technology and product management for monitoring. As part of this role, he will work toward providing IT and facility managers with software solutions to help them manage their increasingly complex and rapidly changing computing environments. In this capacity, he is working closely with Aperture, an Emerson Network Power business, and other partners to strengthen Emerson’s total data center infrastructure management software portfolio.

Ekbote was Vice President of Corporate Planning for the Systems business at Emerson Network Power since January 2003 where he was responsible for driving the Emerson planning process and facilitating several key acquisitions. He played a lead role in the development of the Energy Logic white paper, which the company claims has become one of the industry’s foremost roadmaps for reducing energy consumption in the data center. Before holding that position, he was President at Emerson Network Power India.

In his new role, Charles O’Donnell directs new global product development for Emerson’s Liebert AC power products. Additionally, he manages test and development labs, support engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives designed to solve specific customer challenges and enhance product quality and safety.

O’Donnell, who fills the position vacated by Peter Panfil when he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the Liebert AC Power business, began his career at Emerson Network Power in 2003 with Emerson’s Liebert Services business, with his most recent position being Vice President of Monitoring and Professional Services. Prior to joining Emerson, he held positions in quality management, research and development, and reliability engineering.
