Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (St. Louis, MO), announced its new ADN Series of DIN-rail switching power supplies from Astec Power. The new series currently includes five models that offer power ratings of 60 W to 480 W, all with a nominal output voltage of 24 Vdc and a 20 ms holdup time as well as a 50-percent brownout tolerance from the selected nominal input voltage.
The compact units are designed for rugged operation with temperatures as high as 60 °C with no derating and no forced-air cooling requirement. Suitable for factory automation and other industrial applications, the ADN Series can accommodate large peak loads needed to run motor-controllers and other devices with high surge current demands.
Featuring an industrial-grade design with high mean time between failures, reliability and efficiency greater than 90 percent, all models incorporate power-factor correction and auto select between 115 Vac and 230 Vac nominal input voltages, except for the 60 W version that accepts universal input from 85 Vac to 264 Vac. The new series features nominal output-current ranges from 2.5 A to 20 A, depending upon the model, and all but the 100 W model can support up to double their nominal current for up to 2 sec.
Backed by a three-year warranty, the new products meet worldwide safety and performance standards, including listings from UL and CE. Samples are available now with prices starting at $60 for the 60 W model.
