EMCO High Voltage Unveils Addition to Q Series

May 21, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

EMCO High Voltage Corp. (Sutter Creek, CA) unveiled an addition to its Q Series. The new 10,000V power supply is offered in six models, including Q60, Q80 and Q101, and Q60N, Q80N and Q101N for negative output polarity. The devices measure 0.85” x 0.85” x 0.85”, and weigh one ounce.

The new models in the Q Series accept 0 to 5V on the input and provide 0 to 6, 8 or 10kV output. These power supplies utilize a quasi-sine wave oscillator and an enclosed pot core transformer. The isolated output is proportional to the input and features a 0.7V turn-on voltage. No external components are required, and the devices feature short-circuit protection. Applications include avalanche photodiodes, photomultiplier tubes, light sources, piezo devices, sustaining ion pumps, electrophoresis, printers, igniters, capacitor chargers and solid-state detectors.
