DOSA Eighth-Brick Bus Converter delivers 108W

July 20, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Semiconductor Circuits, Inc. has introduced the CPE9B36 "Cool Power Technologies" 12V, 9A wide input range eighth-brick dc-dc converter. This open-frame module provides a full 108W of 12V power at 55 degrees C with 200lfm of airflow - optimized for bus converter or distributed power architecture applications. This module is compliant with DOSA footprint and interface standards. It has a input voltage range of 18- to 72-Vdc and provides 2250Vdc input-to-output isolation.

The CPE9B36 is a high-efficiency module with efficiencies exceeding 92%. It meets EN 60950 basic insulation requirements and is UL94 V-0 flammability rated. The module complies with all of the typical industry requirements including no load operation and 100V/100mS input voltage transient. Other features include: fixed-frequency operation, auto-restart OVP, OCP & OTP protections, UVLO, remote sense and +/-10% output voltage trim using industry standard equations. Remote ON/OFF is standard with positive or negative logic options available.

The module features a standard eighth-brick pinout and dimensions of 2.3” L x 0.9” W (58.4mm x 22.9mm.) It has a maximum height of 11.8mm (0.465”) which accommodates tight card spacing with minimal airflow blockage of downstream components.
