Diotec Debuts TGL34 TVS in MiniMELF Case

May 07, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Diotec GmbH (Germany), a Semikron company, debuted what it claims is the first transient voltage suppressor (TVS) in a MiniMELF case. The new TGL34 Series allows peak pulse power dissipation of 150W for a standard 10/1,000µs pulse and is available with breakdown voltages from 6.8V to 200V. Unidirectional as well as bi-directional types can be ordered.

The TGL34 Series has a steady-state power dissipation of 750mW. Its operating temperature range extends from -50 to 150 degrees C. The device weighs 0.04g. Diotec claims that the device can be used to save space and cost by replacing larger over-voltage protection devices in SOD-87.
