Delta Electronics Intros Delphi Q48SR Converters

February 05, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Delta Electronics Inc. (Chungli, Taiwan), a leader in power systems technology and manufacturing, introduced its Q48SR quarter-brick converter, the latest addition to its Delphi Series of board-mounted, dc-dc power converters. The wide-range output trim enables Delta's customers to reduce their need to inventory a myriad of output-voltage combinations.

The Q48SR 48 V input, single-output, isolated dc-dc converter offers two standard models that span the output-voltage ranges of 0.8 V to 1.9 V at 40 A/60 A and 1.7 V to 3.6 V at 35 A/50 A. The Q48SR converter operates from a wide input-voltage range of 36 V to 75 V. Output voltages may be trimmed to any voltage within the output voltage range, or may be factory set to a fixed output voltage. The Q48SR units offer increased operating efficiencies of 91 percent (3.3 V) and 88 percent (1.8 V), respectively, at full load; a typical ripple and noise of 30 mV, peak-to-peak; a standard footprint; an industry-standard pin out; the basic insulation requirements of EN60950; and full protection against all abnormal conditions.

Sample quantities of the Delphi Q48SR converters are available for immediate delivery. In OEM quantities of 1,000 pieces, the unit price is $42. Standard lead-time is from stock to eight weeks, depending on the volume.
