Current Transducer Combines a Current Transformer and Signal Conditioner

August 13, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

NK Technologies has introduced the new AT/ATR-LS Current Transducer. The AT/ATR-LS combines a current transformer and signal conditioner that is great for monitoring large loads. The AT/ATR-LS is easy to install due to a large, split-core design that can be installed over existing conductors without disconnecting the load, even in applications with multiple conductors per phase.

“The AT/ATR-LS design saves valuable time for installers; they simply the top portion of the sensing ring, place the conductors inside and snap the top back in place,” says Phil Gregory, President, NK Technologies. “The base can be snapped onto a DIN rail or attached to the control panel with screws. Either method provides a solid and secure way to measure the current use of the load. The transducer can also be simply suspended from the conductors if needed.”

The AT/ATR-LS Current Transducer is suited for monitoring large machines as it measures the current use to detect over or under current conditions. For water delivery and treatment, the AT/ATR-LS detects open discharge lines and can see clogged filters or blocked pump intakes. In generators, it keeps the power system running by monitoring output, and can be used to signal over loaded conditions.

The new AT/ATR-LS Current Transducer features industry standard output, loop-power, factory calibration, a split-core case and DIN rail mount. The transducer uses two wires to connect to the power supply and the load: programmable logic controller, panel meter or data acquisition system. Designed to meet UL, CUL, and CE requirements, the AT/ATR-LS can be used worldwide.
