C&D Technologies Offers 2300 Series SMT Inductors

March 27, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

C&D Technologies Inc. (Tucson, AZ) announced a new family of miniature bobbin-wound, surface-mount inductors, which are suitable for applications requiring high saturation currents and minimum component size. Inductors in the new 2300 Series offer nominal inductance values (at 1kHz rms and 100mVac) of between 2.2µH and 100µH, and maximum current handling capabilities of up to 2.1A. Despite this, the devices have profiles down to just 2.95mm (0.116in) and maximum widths as low as 4.25mm (0.167in).

Based on an open format that allows optimum heat dissipation, the 2300 Series inductors are suitable for switching power supply and power line filtering designs. The devices feature low maximum dc resistances of between 0.029O and 1.281O. Maximum profile and width for the inductors are just 3.45mm (0.136in) and 6.45mm (0.254in), respectively. Available in tape-and-reel format, the new inductors are fully compatible with high-volume automated manufacturing systems. Pricing for the inductors begins at $0.35 per device in OEM quantities.
