October 15, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

C&D Technologies, Inc. announced that it has become a Contributor Member of The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.

"We welcome C&D Technologies as a new Contributing Member of The Green Grid," said John Pflueger, a Director of The Green Grid. "C&D’s breadth of knowledge and experience in stored energy solutions for data center infrastructure will be a valuable asset to the consortium, as we continue working to improve data center energy efficiency within the U.S. and abroad."

"C&D’s decision to join The Green Grid organization further highlights the real opportunities we foresee to provide our customers with energy efficient products which conserve natural resources and preserve the environment. Continuing growth in computer usage has driven increased demands on the data center, which in turn has lead to surging power requirements and emphasized the need for energy efficiency. Industry leading products, such as C&D’s new groundbreaking msEndur® II battery product family, are designed to reduce energy consumption during operation in the data center. By joining The Green Grid as a Contributing Member, we look forward to the opportunity to help shape policy from the energy storage system prospective to promote data center infrastructure design with an energy efficient focus," said Dr. Jeffrey Graves, President and CEO of C&D Technologies.
