Canadian Govt. Invests CDN$5.8 Million To Support Stuart Energy Project

The Canadian Government announced a CDN$5.8 million investment in a CDN$17.7 million project to support Stuart Energy Systems Inc. (Toronto) in developing a system for improving the refuelling of hydrogen fuel cell-powered buses. The Stuart high-volume refuelling system is said to allow bus companies running fuel cell vehicles to refuel more vehicles overnight, reducing costs by taking advantage of off-peak electricity rates. "This project is part of a larger vision to make fuel cell-powered buses, trucks and cars a reality and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions," stated Environment Minister Christine Stewart. "This investment underlines our commitment to address climate change and meet our Kyoto Protocol Targets."
