Darnell's Power Forum 2013
September 9-13, 2013
Now part of Darnell's Energy Summit, Darnell's Power Forum (DPF) is an exciting international event that focuses on “advancing power technologies that matter” for the successful development of next-generation power systems. There is tremendous synergy possible from discussions broadly focused on power management, energy efficiency, advanced components, energy storage, smart grid innovations and more. DPF is a solutions-oriented event, with a strong emphasis on practical advances in power electronics. In addition to a strong focus on today's "best practices," DPF looks forward toward next-generation solutions and advances. The event is being held in Dallas, TX.
Green Building Power Forum 2013
September 9-13, 2013
Now part of Darnell's Energy Summit, Green Building Power Forum (GBPF) addresses the occurring convergence of technologies that will change how buildings are powered. These technologies include the continued rapid growth of distributed generation resources (photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, fuel cells, micro turbines, etc.); the emergence of high-efficiency lighting technologies (especially solid-state LED lighting); wireless building automation systems; demand-side management of building energy use by electric utilities; and more. This year's confence is being held in Dallas, TX.
Smart Grid Electronics Forum 2013
September 9-13, 2013
Now part of Darnell's Energy Summit, the Fourth Smart Grid Electronics Forum (SGEF '13) will focus on the practical impact that the emerging smart grid will have on the design issues/decisions/techniques/devices/etc. related to the development and design of electronic equipment. As a delegate at SGEF '13 you will learn how deployment of the smart grid will change the design of all types of electronic equipment. Coverage will extend from the Smart Meter through the building and related microgrids to the end-use equipment. You will hear about the latest component developments, design techniques, communications protocols, architectures, smart-grid standards, and more. This year's conference is being held in Dallas, TX.
November 2013

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules
Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.

The Role of Hall Effect Sensors in Power Distribution Infrastructure
Power distribution units (PDUs) form an essential part of modern computing and data communications hardware. They provide multiple outputs for transferring electrical power with maximum efficiency, controlling the power capacity and safeguarding against the possible causes of supply interruption. With an ever increasing need from tech savvy consumers for higher data throughput and greater quantities of data storage capacity, as well as tough international legislation now governing CO&sub2; emissions, the demands being placed on these units are proving challenging for engineering teams to satisfy.
