Best Power (Necedah, WI) introduced the Fortress 1800VA uninterruptible power system. The new UPS provides four 15A outlet receptacles and two 20A outlet receptacles, in addition to standard upgraded voltage regulation features and expanded communications options.The Fortress line features Best Power's BestSelect buck and boost feature, which is designed to allow end-users to easily adjust UPS voltage settings to their specific requirements. The Fortress 1800VA also delivers PowerSteady voltage to maintain optimum system availability without utilizing the battery. The system also features an enhanced battery recharge that provides a full to 95 percent charge within three hours."With the introduction of the Fortress 1800VA UPS, Best Power now provides an advanced UPS delivering increased capacity for network computing power protection, with a 20A input plug allowing standard outlet 'plug and play' operation. no hardwiring required," stated Product Manager Andy Johnson. "And like the other Fortress UPSs, the Fortress 1800VA units include the new intelligent BestDock communications slot to enable a variety of connectivity options."Integrated features include built-in transient voltage surge suppression for associated modem or network connections, easy-to-read and intuitive user interface, and user-replaceable, hot-swappable batteries. The Fortress 1800VA includes Best Power's CheckUPS II Suite of power management software and the required connecting cable at no extra cost. Best Power also announced that its CheckUPS II Basic and Advanced software has been listed as one of Teleconnect magazine's 1998 Products of the Year.
