January 18, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Belkin Components (Compton, CA) introduced its new Regulator Pro Mac Series UPS. Available in two models, a 400Va unit, F6C500-USB-MAC; and a 650Va unit, F6C650-USB-MAC, the new series is designed specifically for the iMac and G4/G4 computer user.

Belkin claims that their Regulator Pro Mac Series UPS is the first to feature shut-down software for Macintosh computers that communicate via USB. The series also offers line-interactive technology featuring automatic voltage regulation (AVR).

“The AVR component plus the USB communication are the major advantages provided the Regulator Pro Mac Series units," stated Kannyn MacRae, business unit manager on the UPS line at Belkin. “The Regulator Pro Mac Series line stands alone in features, benefits and reliability."

All Regulator Pro Mac Series units carry a UPS data recovery warranty. Units will be available to ship in North America in January 2001 and will have an MSRP of $169.99, for the 500Va model, and $199.99, for the 650Va model. The Regulator Pro Mac Series UPS also offers replaceable, brightly-colored faceplates, available on the Belkin website, so that it will compliment any Mac environment. These are available on the Belkin website for $7.99 each.
