AVX Offers Accu-P Series Thin-Film Capacitors in New 0201 Size

August 15, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, CA) announced that its new Accu-P Series of thin-film capacitors are now available in a 0201 size. The 0201 Accu-P Series features high SRF and low ESR at high frequencies, and tolerances of +/-0.02pF. The Accu-P Series capacitors are suitable for use in cellular, PCS and PCN telephones and systems, satellite communications networks, GPS receivers, test and measurement applications, filters, VCOs, and RF amplifiers.

The 0201 Accu-P Series capacitors feature capacitance values from 6.8pF down to 0.8pF. Rated voltage ranges from 10Vdc to 25Vdc, with a temperature coefficient of 0 +/-30ppm per degree C over the temperature range from -55 to 125 degrees C. Additionally, the 0201 Accu-P Series guarantees SRF, ESR and Q values through 2,400MHz. AVX reports that the capacitors' nickel/solder-coated terminations are compatible with virtually all automated assembly equipment.

"This Accu-P Series answers the increasing demand for smaller, high-performance components, especially for the wireless communications market," said Larry Eisenberger, AVX product manager. "The 0201 Accu-P devices excel in systems where size is an issue along with performance; plus, we can supply a non-standard value within the capacitor’s available range of values."

The Accu-P Series of capacitors is available in tape-and-reel packaging of 5,000 and 20,000 per reel. Typical pricing is approximately $0.09 each with lead times from stock to five weeks.
