AstroPower Inc. (Newark, DE) announced that is has completed the acquisition of Aplicaciones Tecnicas de la Energia SA (Atersa, Valencia, Spain) announced in late July.
At the closing in Spain on September 11, 2001, AstroPower issued 183,984 common shares and paid about $12.8 million in cash. As part of the transaction, AstroPower said it acquired Atersa's 50-percent equity stake in AstraSolar, a Spanish solar cell manufacturing venture owned by AstroPower and Atersa.
